My Salvation Testimony

by Jamie Carman
At the age of 15, I thought I was a Christian. I knew how to talk the talk, and I could almost walk the walk. On September 2, 1995 everything changed in my life. My friend, Bradley Long died in a car wreck and as far as we knew, he wasn’t saved. The next Monday we buried him. There was a lot of young adults at his funeral, and most of them went to the gravesite.
School was very hard for everyone that week, but we all stuck together. I think we all got real close during that time.
Well, my dad is a preacher and all that week he preached on people dying and not being saved. They would then end up in Hell. At this point the Lord started working in my heart. The next Friday, September 8, we went to play ball. Before we left, Mr. McReynolds preached on the same thing. This is where it really gripped my heart and I realized I was not really saved. I went home that night and talked to my mother and then I prayed. At 11:25, Friday, September 8, 1995 Jesus Christ had mercy on me and I invited him into my heart to stay.
