TIDBITS:

Thoughts, advertisments, poems, etc...

(And by the way... Just so you won't skip anything here in "Tidbits", we have put all the "cute sayings" (that little siblings have said) all the way down at the very bottom! :-)

He’s my God
He is my God. - I know He is!
For in my heart, He loves and lives.
And when I die, to Him I’ll fly,
For He is mine, and I am His!
-Summer

Here are some thoughtful thoughts:

1. When you can’t sleep, don’t count sheep; look to the Shepherd.
2. Lord, I thank Thee everyday for the roses. Help me to also thank Thee for the thorns.
3. Courage is fear that has said it’s prayers.
4. “But with God, everything is possible.” - Matt. 19:26 (b) TLB

Teen Commandments For Christian Youth

1. Don’t break your parent’s hearts by following the world; they’ve given of themselves for you.
2. Be careful of the friends with whom you associate, for what they do, you will be tempted to do.
3. Don’t let your habits get the mastery over you; you must learn well to control them.
4. Be careful of the way you spend your time on earth; use it wisely to serve Him.
5. It’s easy to become wishy-washy in this world; Know what you believe and why.
6. Don’t become anxious about getting married; wait for God to send the right girl or guy.
7. Don’t get caught up in serving yourself; to serve others is better by far.
8. Set the guard of conscience over your mind, for what you think, you are.
9. Don’t feast on the sensual delights of this world; it’s much better to sup with Christ.
10. Live your life completely for Him; for your soul, He paid a great price!

Grown-up Already??!

Our little sister, Harmony, who is 3 years old, has suddenly become obsessed with the idea that she is now a “big girl.” Well, one night during family devotions, my father told her the story about the little children sitting on Jesus’ lap. Then my dad asked her, “Would you sit in Jesus’ lap?” Her confident answer was, “If I was a little children, I would sit in Jesus’ lap. :-)

Daze - ling Words

One night, Shawn (who is ten), was sleeping in our living room chair. Dad said, “Shawn, go to bed.” Shawn woke up wild eyed & said, “I got to get back to heaven.” - Anna Howard, Woodbury, TN
One night after family devotions, we discovered that our five year old brother, Samuel, had fallen asleep during the prayer. So in an effort to wake him, our 12 year old brother started moving him... In a daze, little Samuel suddenly pulled himself into a sitting position and groggily announced: "Jesus loves me!" - Chapin Girls

He’s Laughing at Me!

We have a huge German Shepherd / Rottweiler that came to us three weeks before Christmas. A week later, our long-haired Australian Shepherd / Sheltie, Rosie, was hit. My mother believes that our merciful Lord sent the Shepherd to us to prepare us for the sadness that would follow Rosie’s unexpected death.
We named the dog “Rudoulf”, (Rudy, for short), and the training session began... The undisciplined Rudy was almost given away because of his stubbornness, for neither us, nor Frosty, Rosie’s mother, was very fond of the lanky, “cloth eared” shepherd.
But, suddenly, about 2 or 3 months ago, Rudy suddenly “snapped into gear” and began obeying perfectly!
Anyway, the point of this story: Miriam, my three-year-old sister, takes this dog training seriously. She thinks the dogs must obey her as well. (She will take a rolled up paper if they don’t listen! Honestly!)
One day our little drill sergeant was shouting at Rudy. “No! No, Rudy! No!” (Of course, I assumed she was trying to get him to lay down, but not succeeding.)
My brother Philip, asked her, “Why are you yelling at Rudy?”
Miriam, hands on hips, glared at Rudy, who was undaunted as he gazed adoringly at Philip.
“He’s going: ‘Heh, heh, heh!!’ she imitated the pant of an overly exhausted dog.
