I Will Never
Leave You
I was born the first child of loving Christian parents, so I have always
known of God, the things of God, the commandments of God, and the Love
of God.
When I was five years old Mom was reading a story to me about a little
boy who accepted Christ. I said, “Mom, can I do that?” to which, of course,
she answered, “Yes!” So I became a child of God...
In 1992, before I turned 10, my mother and I started to wear the covering,
after attending revival meetings held by Charity Christian Fellowship (from
PA) here in Iowa. We immediately received coldness from some of our acquaintances.
That was hard for me, as I was fairly “popular”, (whatever that means!
:-) :-| ) - and suddenly I was not popular at all! :-) (Let me add here
that I have dear friends who do not wear a covering, and one friend especially
has stuck with me through thick and thin!)
At that time we were not going to a church, but visiting different
churches. That was a lonely time for me.
In the spring of ’93 Mom sent for a magazine called “HopeChest” which
I’m sure many of you are familiar with. I was thrilled to read of other
girls like me! I sent a pen-pal request to HopeChest and got about ten
wonderful pen-pals. - I received so much encouragement from those girls!
I don’t write to all of them anymore, but they really helped me through
my time of loneliness! I hope I helped them too.
In September ’93 when I was 11 years old, I was baptized in a river
with my brother and some other friends. I truly felt as if I was becoming
a Christian all over again. Praise God! My baptism meant so much to me!
At the moment, we are not attending a church. Sometimes it’s hard to
understand why we seem destined to be “all by ourselves!” but it’s selfish
to be unhappy about our situation. I know, as I write this that there are
MANY other girls like me! I hope you will be encouraged by the following
verses; they have meant so much to me. “Though He slay me, yet will I trust
in Him.” - Job 13:15 “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will
never leave you or forsake you.”- Joshua 1:5
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us.”
Thankful For His Love,
