A testimony of how thankful I am for my two sisters...
I am so thankful for my two sisters, Arielle (5) and Arianna (2)!!!
We are very close, even though there is a big difference in age (I’ll be
16 in January). The girls have been, and are, a big blessing to me and
I thank the Lord for giving me my heart’s desire. . . .I wanted a sister
and He gave me two! How wonderfully God answered my request for a sister!
Ever since Arielle was born, there has been a change in my life. Before
I had any sisters I was a very “grown up” little girl who had grown into
a quiet, reserved “shell.” I had gone to public school from kindergarten
to 3rd grade (I have been a homeschooler for 6 years now), and that had
greatly changed my personality from a fun-loving, natural little girl to
a serious “grown up” little girl.
Then Arielle was born. . . and God started to undo what being in public
school had done to me. Soon I wasn’t ashamed to act silly, laugh, and play,
as well as show a maturity and seriousness appropriate for my age. Soon
I was a girl who wasn’t an “old woman” before she was 12. And I know that
because of my two sisters, I have blossomed out and have learned not been
afraid to be myself and what God wants me to be.
Witnessing their innocent and funny view of things, and their unreserved,
loving, spontaneous lives worked tremendously on my heart, and I am so
very grateful for how Jesus has changed me! How much more I enjoy life,
now that I have two little sisters to share it with! Playing dress-up,
having tea parties, making music together on the piano (although we certainly
do not sound like concert pianists! =) ), playing “house,” reading
stories together, baking special treats, teaching Arielle how to read,
with Arianna learning right along, and much more, are what we do together.
Having a chance (and an excuse =) ) to be a little girl again, has made
my life brighter.
Thank you, Lord, for giving me two sisters like Arielle and Arianna!
How greatly blessed I am, and I hope that I never become ungrateful, nor
forgetful of how I was before God started working on me by using my sisters.
