It was in the spring of 1996 when we first decided to print Young
Women Stepping Heavenward in order to encourage other girls like us
to "Press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ
Jesus." - Phil. 3:14
We are to strive to be perfect here on earth, even though we know we
will never attain that complete perfection until we leave our earthly bodies
and go to be with our Lord. In our Christian walk here on earth, we should
be continually growing, stepping higher and higher, becoming more and more
perfect, and shining brighter and brighter with the glory of our Lord so
that all can see who we are... Christians! - Servants of our Lord Jesus
Christ! For this reason we wish for this magazine to be a reflection of
how we as Christian young people should be living our lives on earth for
him, and for Him only!!!
Our goal is to publish a new issue of “YWSH” magazine every two months.
However, despite our good intentions, the Lord has often overruled in the
past by allowing obstacles to detain the formatting and printing process.
As a result, we publish only as the Lord leads in His providence, even
though our goal remains the same. =) The Chapins: Tom (Dad), is a Systems Analyst at Ericsson in
Richardson, Texas. He also leads our home Bible study on Sunday evenings.
Sherry (Mom) is a homemaker and our teacher. (What would we do without
her?!) Summer (18) enjoys writing, sewing, cooking, and reading,
as well as editing YWSH. Melody (16) stays busy with YWSH, and she
is the one that keeps up with the e-mail. She also enjoys reading, (and
to some extent, writing =) ), the outdoors, shopping, etc. Tommy
(14) enjoys working with computers. He just got a job as an HTML developer and he was the one who made this web site.
We also have a brother, Timothy, who died at age one from spinal-meningitis.
(He would be 11.) Charity (10) is our "love-bug" who enjoys doing
almost anything and everything - reading, writing, sewing, cooking, piano,
shopping, and the list could go on and on...=) Samuel (7) is our
sweet little brother, and he wants to be a farmer when he grows up! Next
is Harmony (5) who is very active and observing! And last of all
(but certainly not least) is Autumn, who is 2. She has
been talking now for some time, and her vocabulary list increases daily!
